MANILA: The head of the Philippines' national archives told election officials yesterday that documents support claims made in a petition questioning the citizenship of action movie star Fernando Poe J., a front-runner in May 10 elections.
The documents in the government's Records Management and Archives Office show Poe's mother was an American and his father was a Spanish citizen, as claimed by a lawyer seeking to disqualify the opposition front-runner, the archives' director Ricardo Manapat said.
