MADRAS: As many as 218 people were injured when a centuries-old Tamil rustic sport of taming fierce bulls was held in southern India at the weekend, organisers said yesterday.
Around 23 of the injured were admitted to hospital after being badly gored by bulls in Friday's show of Jallikattu at Palamedu and Avaniapuram villages, near the temple town of Madurai in Tamil Nadu state, they said.
