BANGKOK/JAKARTA: Floods caused by heavy seasonal rains have hit several provinces in southern Thailand and in Sumatra, Indonesia.
Thai authorities have closed major roads and launched rescue operations in parts of Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Songkhla, Surat Thani and Yala provinces, where floodwaters have risen as high as three metres over the past two days, The Bangkok Post reported.
