TAIPEI: Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian said yesterday that his government planned an anti-missile, anti-war landmark referendum next year aimed at safeguarding the island's sovereignty.
To make sure our children will not have to be sent to the battlefields, an 'anti-missile, anti-war' referendum will be held for the first time on the presidential election day on March 20, Chen said at an election rally.
