BANGKOK: Thailand's newly appointed education minister plans to cut down the amount of academic work children must do at school and give them more time for recreation to cut stress and let them “enjoy their life,” news reports said yesterday.
Adisai Bodharamik, who took over as education minister after a Cabinet reshuffle last weekend, said public schools require students to spend eight hours a day studying Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences, leaving little time for less cerebral pursuits.
