TOKYO: A former mobster has turned himself in to police for shooting and seriously injuring an American marine in the western Japanese city of Hiroshima, a police spokesman said yesterday.
The suspect, Tomoyuki Matsumoto, 37, showed up at Hiroshima Higashi police station on Tuesday, saying he had shot the American who was walking down the street with fellow servicemen in a bar district on Sunday, the spokesman said.
