SINGAPORE: This tiny island republic spent more than S$6bil (RM13.18bil) – an average of S$1,500 (RM3,296) per person on lotteries, horse racing and other types of officially sanctioned gambling last year, a government report says.
Taxes on bets totalled more than S$1.3bil (RM2.85bil) last year, according to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore's latest annual report.
