YANGON: UN envoy Tan Sri Razali Ismail yesterday began a critical mission to Myanmar aimed at bringing opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and the ruling generals back to the negotiating table.
He is expected to get permission to see Suu Kyi, who was put under house arrest last Friday after spending nearly four months in custody at a secret location until undergoing major surgery on Sept 17.
