MANILA: The Philippines said it is confident that by next year it will have jailed Imelda Marcos, the flamboyant widow of ex-dictator Ferdinand Marcos, on multiple charges of graft and smuggling involving millions of dollars.
The confidence stems from a recent Philippine Supreme Court ruling implying the Marcos clan was “a family of thieves,” said Ruben Carranza, a member of the Presidential Commission on Good Government yesterday.
