CANBERRA: Indonesian presidential hopeful Amien Rais said yesterday that if he wins the presidency next year he will outlaw alleged terror group Jemaah Islamiyah – if it exists in Indonesia.
Jakarta has resisted pressure from foreign governments, including the United States and Australia, to outlaw Jemaah Islamiah. The group has been blamed for a string of attacks in Indonesia including the Bali bombings.
