THAILAND is preparing to shroud the capital under the tightest security blanket possible to protect world leaders and delegates attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) summit next month.
Besides deploying a 10,000 strong specially trained police force, hundreds of army, air force and navy commandos at strategic spots, high-tech equipment such as laser fences will be installed at the Don Muang Bangkok International Airport.
