Teen accused of posing as minister

A TEENAGER who allegedly posed as the Education Minister in an e-mail to his school principal was charged in the Juvenile Court on Thursday under the Computer Misuse Act.

The 14-year-old is accused of impersonating Rear-Admiral (NS) Teo Chee Hean, with intent to deceive the principal into expelling two students from the school.

He allegedly used a re-mailer program on the elhacker.net website to send the e-mail.

Rear-Adm Teo, now the Defence Minister, was the Education Minister at the time of the offence on May 6. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
