TOKYO (AP) - Japan joined Russia for naval exercises Monday, sending a destroyer and 170 sailors to participate in search-and-rescue training, Japan's Defence Agency said.
The one-day joint drill marked the fifth time that units of Japan's Self-Defense Force have participated in Russian military exercises, an agency spokesman said on condition of anonymity.
