JAKARTA: Indonesian prosecutors yesterday demanded a 15-year jail term for Abubakar Ba'asyir, a radical cleric who allegedly leads the terrorist group responsible for the Bali and Marriott bombings that have killed 213 people in total.
“Abubakar has been proven guilty of the crime of treason for trying to overthrow the legitimate government and establish an Islamic state,” said chief public prosecutor Hasan Madani.
