JAKARTA: Indonesia's armed forces said yesterday they had deployed dozens of tanks to Aceh province, amid rising doubts whether a month-old military offensive will quash the long-running rebellion in the region.
Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, meanwhile, said she still hoped for a negotiated end to the conflict.
