Indon army jails three soldiers in Aceh

BANDA ACEH: The army yesterday jailed three soldiers who beat up villagers in Aceh Province, saying they hampered efforts to win hearts and minds during Indonesia's biggest military operation in a quarter-century.

As the operation to crush the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) entered its fourth week, President Megawati Sukarnoputri expressed zero tolerance for separatism in the world's most extensive archipelago.
