BEIJING: Twenty-four people were confirmed dead and 30 others were missing as torrential rains pummelled China's Guangdong and Hunan provinces, inundating cropland and triggering landslides, state press reported yesterday.
Fifteen people were dead and eight missing in southern Guangdong, while nine fatalities and 22 missing people were reported in Hunan which lies northwest of Guangdong, the China News Service said.
