JAKARTA: An Indonesian militant went on trial yesterday for inciting violence against nightclubs and expressing hatred of the government, an offence that carries up to seven years in prison.
Chief prosecutor Hasan Basri accused Habid Rizieq Shihab, leader of disbanded Defender Islamic Front (FPI), of ordering his followers to attack, destroy or totally shut down various nightspots and entertainment centres across the country.
