NEW DELHI: The Indian government denied yesterday opposition claims it was concealing cases of SARS and said it had sounded a “red alert” to prevent the disease from spreading among its billion-plus population.
The national parliament set aside scheduled business as the opposition mounted an attack on the government, a day after western Maharashtra state confirmed three Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) cases.
