WASHINGTON: A vaccine used to treat viral respiratory infections among pigs could prove useful in finding a cure for a mysterious pulmonary ailment that has killed more than 100 people worldwide, a leading US epidemiologist said.
Dr Anthony Fauci, who heads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the Congress on Monday there was a mounting body of evidence that Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is caused by a novel coronavirus that may have crossed species from animals to humans.
