SEOUL: North Korea reported yesterday leader Kim Jong-il's first public appearance in 50 days, a visit to a military medical university that analysts said underscored Pyongyang's belief it will be the next US target after Iraq.
Foreign and South Korean analysts said the visit on Thursday, reported by the official KCNA news agency, was the first publicised event since Feb 12 when Kim visited the Russian embassy for a reception to mark his birthday.
