HONG KONG: Residents of a block of flats in Kowloon affected by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) have been evacuated to two holiday camps to prevent them from being infected by the deadly disease.
The evacuation of the over 240 people of Block E of Amoy Gardens started last evening at eight after health investigators determined that “environmental conditions” at the block could be the cause of the swift spread of the disease.
