TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) - Taiwan has temporarily banned ships from sailing between an outlying island chain and China in a bid to curb the spread of a killer pneumonia virus, while a top Taiwanese health official on Tuesday urged the public not to panic over the illness.
The government announced late Monday that it temporarily cut shipping traffic between China and Taiwan's Matsu Islands, nine kilometers (5.6 miles) off China's southern coast.
