MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Eight communist rebels were believed killed in a clash with government troops in the northern Philippines, the military said Tuesday.
An army statement said soldiers recovered four assault rifles, eight backpacks and documents of "intelligence value'' from the site of Monday's firefight in Dinadlawan, a village about 160 kilometers (100 miles) northeast of Manila.
