HONG KONG: Education authorities here are coming under mounting pressure to shut down all 2,100 schools and kindergartens in the territory amid a widening outbreak of the mysterious atypical pneumonia.
About 50 to 60 education institutions have already suspended classes either because their students had flu symptoms or stayed home out of fear, but Secretary for Education and Manpower Arthur Li remained adamant he would not take the desperate measure of closing schools.
