MANY more people are getting strokes these days, but fewer are dying of it.
Treatment has improved tremendously in the past decade and doctors say people appear to be seeking help earlier because of increased awareness, so much so that the death rate from the illness has fallen from 77 per 100,000 in 1991 to 45 per 100,000 in 2001, according to the ministry's latest report.
