PRINCE SULTAN AIRBASE (Saudi Arabia): In the event of war, Iraq's ageing air force will be knocked out within days, said the base commander of Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) units in Saudi Arabia.
Asked how long it would take for US and British forces to win air supremacy, a crucial first phase of any military attack, Group Captain Brian Bates said on Sunday: “It would be very quick. I think it would be over within days.”
