KYOTO: The largest international conference yet on water issues started yesterday with participants calling for concrete actions to help some 1.4 billion people without access to safe drinking water.
The Third World Water Forum, to be attended by about 150 government ministers and several heads of state, will also discuss ways to raise awareness about the resource.
