Blackouts drive teen to suicide

NEW DELHI: A student preparing for pre-college tests killed himself in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh because power cuts interfered with his studies, a report said yesterday.

The Press Trust of India news agency said teenager Anil Tiwari was so frustrated by the blackouts during his preparations for an upcoming examination in Physics that he hanged himself at home in the state's Khandwa district late on Sunday night. – AFP
