SINGAPORE: Singapore will increase spending on defence and homeland security as the city-state prepares to battle rising terrorist threats in the region, Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said yesterday.
Announcing the city-state's budget for the fiscal year 2003 ending in March next year, Lee said defence spending will climb 0.6% to S$8.25bil (RM17.9bil) from S$8.20bil (RM17.7bil).
