JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - Rescuers on Tuesday were searching for up to 58 people after an explosion sparked a fire that sank a crowded passenger boat in Indonesia, killing at least eight people, a maritime police official said.
There were conflicting reports, however, about the number of people missing following Monday's accident off the coast of north Sumatra island. Another police official put the figure at 33.
