SINGAPORE has signed a letter of intent to join the US-led Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) development programme, making it the first Asian country to take part, the Ministry of Defence announced here yesterday.
The document was signed in Hawaii by the ministry and the US Department of Defence and signified Singapore's option to purchase the new-generation F35 stealth fighters due for delivery to the US Air Force in 2008.
