KABUL: Afghanistan has been rocked by a resurgence of violence over the past few days, as an apparent rise in anti-American sentiments in the troubled country exploded into heavy fighting and deepening insecurity.
Heavy bombing by US and Norwegian warplanes last Monday targeted a group of extremists initially believed to part of an 80-strong rebel combat cluster holed up in mountain caves near the south-eastern border town of Spin Boldak.
