SEOUL: Internet system engineers thwarted further disruption yesterday from a highly contagious computer virus that crippled South Korea’s online networks at the weekend, officials said.
Security solution experts and system engineers at firms, banks and government agencies were placed on alert to stop the spread of the “Sapphire” or “SQL Slammer” worm that caused South Korea’s worst-ever telecommunications breakdown.
