NAKHON PATHOM (Thailand): Sri Lankan government and Tamil Tiger rebel delegates arrived in Thailand yesterday to take part in what could be the most crucial round of peace talks since negotiations started four months ago.
The four-day talks, which open tomorrow, are likely to focus on the army's demand that the rebels disarm and the guerillas' insistence that the army close camps in high-security zones to allow tens of thousands of Tamils to return to the northern Jaffna Peninsula.
