Aidiladha: Over 2,500 Sepang residents received meat this year says Deputy Minister

CYBERJAYA: A total of 50 cows and three goats were sacrificed and distributed to about 2,500 residents in the Sepang area.

The distribution included asnaf groups and was organized in conjunction with this year's Aidiladha celebration.

Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu said the programme involved about 500 personnel.

The team comprised firefighters, village heads, councillors and volunteers.

"Today, we sacrificed 50 cows and three goats," she said after the Program Ibadah Qurban Kasih here on Saturday (May 30).

"The sacrificial meat will be distributed to about 2,500 recipients, including residents around Sepang, personnel from the Housing and Local Government Ministry and those in need," she added.

Aiman Athirah said the programme also saw the participation of 38 traditional villages in the Sepang district to carry out the sacrificial ritual.

She added that a community feast was also held to celebrate local residents.

The feast aimed to strengthen ties between the community, local leaders and the government agencies involved.

According to her, two cows and three goats were sacrificed earlier to prepare food for the feast.

The gathering was held in conjunction with the Program Ibadah Qurban Kasih.
