Bukit Jalil upgrade works come under MACC scrutiny

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed receiving information related to the evaluation process and implementation of upgrade works at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

The MACC's Strategic Communications division said the matter was currently under the commission's scrutiny.

"The commission was reviewing information and related documents that had been submitted and would determine the appropriate course of action, including possible investigations.

"The issue is currently under the attention of the MACC for further investigation and action, including the examination of relevant information and documents received," it said in a statement on Friday (May 29).

The graft busters reiterated that it viewed seriously any allegations involving corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation, particularly those concerning public interest and government procurement.

"We also called on individuals with relevant information to come forward and assist in the matter to ensure a comprehensive and professional review process.

"Whistleblowers and informants should not disclose any information they submit to other parties, warning that doing so could result in leaks that may compromise further action by the commission.

"This is to avoid information leakage and, most importantly, to ensure that any follow-up action by the MACC is not affected," the commission added.
