Man found dead inside car in baling

BALING: A local man, believed to be in his 30s, was found dead inside a sedan parked by the roadside at Simpang 3 Tawar near a Chinese cemetery here on Saturday (May 23).

Baling police chief Supt Brandon Richard Joe said police received information regarding the discovery of the man, who was believed to be unconscious, at 11.35am on Saturday.

"Upon arriving at the location, it was found that the vehicle was locked, and a man, believed to have died, was inside the car.

"The Fire and Rescue Department assisted in opening the vehicle and removing the man. A forensic team from the Kedah contingent police headquarters also conducted an inspection at the scene," he said in a statement on Sunday (May 24).

He said checks on the man's past records found that he had 20 criminal and narcotics-related offences, while the vehicle used was found to have been reported missing following a police report lodged in Pendang.

"The man's body was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for a post-mortem examination, and the case has been classified as a sudden death report," he said. – Bernama
