Johor forms interim Bersama committee

JOHOR BARU: Johor has become the first state in the country to establish a pro-tem committee for Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama).

Johor Bersama joint interim committee chairman Abd Hamid Ali said the committee consists of former PKR state and division leaders, including a former state assemblyman.

The group has officially left PKR and joined Bersama, bringing with them almost 2,000 registered Johor PKR members, he told reporters at the unveiling of Johor Bersama’s pro-tem committee yesterday.

Former Tiram assemblyman S. Gopalakrishnan, who is the joint interim committee deputy chairman, said they would be looking at contesting all 56 state seats in the comingJohor polls.

“We are identifying potential candidates. They will all be locals,” he said.
