66 evacuated in Beaufort due to floods


BEAUFORT: A total of 66 people from 24 families have been evacuated from three villages here as of 8am on Tuesday (May 19) after their homes were flooded.

The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said the evacuees were being housed at the Selagon permanent relief centre, which was opened at 3 pm.

"The evacuees are 18 men, 21 women, as well as 27 children and infants,” it said in a statement. – Bernama
