New Kelantan federal complex to house 36 agencies

KOTA BARU: The newly completed Kota Baru Federal Complex in Tunjong will be Kelantan’s newest landmark, offering services from 36 agencies across 15 ministries.

The complex is built on 27.28 acres as a modern integrated administrative centre, the Public Works Department (JKR) said.

It was officially handed over by the department to the Prime Minister's Department by JKR director-general Datuk Seri Roslan Ismail.

"The project, which began on June 1, 2020 was completed in April 16 this year. The project was completed despite many challenges, including the implementation of the Movement Control Order, thanks to the commitment and teamwork of all parties involved.

"The project also achieved a three-star MyCrest rating," the JKR said in a statement.

The federal complex has three main blocks, a 300-seat capacity auditorium, a 1,000-person capacity multipurpose hall, surau, cafeteria and sports facilities including a badminton court, a sepak takraw court and a futsal court.

Other facilities include a main switch station building, a water retention pond and a chiller plant, the department added. - Bernama
