Social media post on Hajiji assembly absence draws police report

KOTA KINABALU: A social media post about Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor's absence from the state assembly sitting draws a police report in Kota Kinabalu.

The posting claimed that Hajiji was not around to answer pressing questions, including those about the 40% revenue claim and the Sebatik Island issue, even though he could arrive at the Istana Negeri at 3am to swear in as Chief Minister (last year).

Activist Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar, chairman of the Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia (G57) non-governmental organisation, said this posting is malicious, fake, and intended to confuse the public while tarnishing the image of Sabah’s leaders.

He said Hajiji had consistently been at the Assembly Hall, carrying out his duties throughout the Assembly sitting.

Zulkarnain said he filed a police report against the social media page, its administrators, and its handlers. He said he also asked the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to act.
