Missing senior citizen found dead in Miri


MIRI: An elderly man, who was reported missing in an orchard near a petrol station along Jalan Pintas Miri since April 23, was found dead on Tuesday (April 28).

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the man, 73, was found by the search and rescue team at about 12.30pm within a one-kilometre radius from where he was reported missing.

"Today’s operation began at 8.30am with the team divided into two groups to conduct the search within a one-kilometre radius from the victim’s last known location.

"He was found not long after the operation was suspended at 12.20pm,” the department said in a statement.

The victim’s body has been handed to the police for further action. – Bernama
