PETALING JAYA: A simple act of kindness a roadside mechanic showed a single father has once again struck a chord with Malaysians, with a follow-up video capturing a deeply emotional exchange between the two.
The story first went viral after a mechanic, known as "Abang Minyak Hitam Jalanan", helped repair a stranded rider's motorcycle late at night, only to find that the man, identified as Dicky Lau, did not have enough money to pay.

In the latest clip circulating online, the two men are meeting up again after the incident drew widespread attention and offers of donations, which reportedly came to about RM6,000.
Dicky had earlier suggested that half of the money be given to the mechanic to continue helping others in need as "infak" (charity), reflecting his intention to pass on the goodwill.
However, in the video, the mechanic attempts to hands the money back to Dicky.
The moment turns emotional when the mechanic tries to pass him the cash but Dicky quickly declines, saying "Bang, jangan bang."
The mechanic, however, gently insists, urging Dicky to keep it, saying "You have a child," as Dicky breaks down and wipes away his tears.
The exchange resonated with users online, with many describing it as a rare display of sincerity, humility and mutual care.
The original incident sparked an outpouring of support from Malaysians.
Dicky had said he did not wish to receive donations, urging instead that any help be directed to the mechanic, who is known for assisting stranded motorists.
The follow-up video has only deepened the impact of the story, with many praising both men for putting others before themselves, even in difficult circumstances.
