HONG Kong actor Roger Kwok has suggested that he may consider participating in short-form dramas in the future, depending on the payment offered, reported Sin Chew Daily.
“You don’t need to think too much – just do whatever you’re told,” he said, but added that long-term involvement would depend on returns.
With short dramas likely to become a key industry trend, he said he had set no limits on roles and prioritised good scripts.
Serving as a company non-executive director, Kwok has shifted his life focus, with his daily routines now revolving around meetings and business operations.
“What I’m doing now are things I want to do. It’s different from filming dramas, where things are more passive and restricted by the company,” he said.
> China Press reported that an overseas job scam was foiled at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport just as the victim was about to board a flight.
A 25-year-old man, surnamed Liu, was intercepted before his connection to Xiamen after his family alerted authorities.
Liu had secured the job online just a day earlier, and before even joining the company, he was told to fly to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam to manage a project – an unusual demand for a new hire.
Officers also found multiple red flags with Liu only holding a tourist visa instead of the required work visa and a one-way ticket.
Police warned that such “no return” arrangements were commonly used by scam syndicates and human trafficking networks.
