TALK about making a timely entrance.

A policeman walked into a coffeeshop in southern India just as a toddler suddenly collapsed, Makkal Osai reported.

The scene at the eatery in Kadalur city in Tamil Nadu, turned chaotic with the one-and-a-half-year old boy’s mother screaming in panic.

The coffeeshop staff and other patrons froze, not knowing what to do.

The policeman, who has been identified as Saravanan, immediately grabbed the toddler and ran half a kilometre to the nearest hospital.

Luckily, the doctors were able to administer treatment in time and the boy survived.

The rescue went viral after CCTV footage of the event surfaced online.

Saravanan, who is a chief constable at a nearby police station, has been praised by netizens for his quick action in saving the boy’s life.
