DESPITE his age, an 82-year-old man in Taiwan sparked heated discussion online for punching a bus driver for poor driving skills, China Press reported.

A viral video of the incident showed Bus 847 heading to the Banqiao district on the evening of Jan 8.

During the journey, the elderly man named Huang was heard asking the driver repeatedly whether they had arrived at the Far Eastern Hospital stop.

Standing beside the driver’s seat, Huang continued to complain and accused the driver of not paying attention to the road.

When the bus arrived at the station, Huang did not get off. Instead, he became upset and began quarrelling with the driver.

Without warning, he started punching the driver who raised his arms to block the blows.

Netizens counted that the elderly man managed to land 18 punches.

A male passenger had to pull Huang away to stop the fight.

When police arrived at the scene, they found both the driver and Huang had sustained injuries.

As both men insisted on pressing charges against each other, police took them to the station for further investigations.

> In a bid to steam dumplings using a wood fire stove, a man in China’s Jiangsu province burnt down his house after embers caught on his thatched roof, prompting it to be dubbed “the most expensive dumpling ever made”.

China Press reported that 68-year-old Wang had just returned from a fishing trip and was preparing food for fellow anglers.

Insisting on using a traditional wood fire stove, Wang, 68, steamed 54 egg and chive dumplings before going to rest.

Unfortunately, gusts of wind fanned the flames and caused embers to come into contact with the highly-flammable thatched roof.

The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire house.

Wang was awakened by thick smoke and managed to escape with his father.

Local anglers later organised a donation drive and raised 80,000 yuan (RM46,555) to help Wang recover his losses.
