PETALING JAYA: An Indonesian woman who previously masqueraded as a stewardess to avoid feeling shame from her family has finally achieved her dream after being hired as a real flight attendant.
Majoriti reported that Nisa from Palembang, who recently went viral after impersonating a flight attendant early Jan, was officially hired by Garuda Indonesia.
The 23-year-old previously attracted public attention after wearing a Batik Air flight attendant uniform, carrying the airline’s official luggage, and using a fake identification card during a Palembang–Jakarta journey.
"Nevertheless, Nisa stressed that her actions were not driven by malicious intent. She admitted she was under psychological pressure and felt ashamed in front of her family after becoming a victim of a scam.
"Irresponsible parties had promised her success in a flight attendant selection test in exchange for payment.
"Unable to face the reality, Nisa pretended that she had been accepted as a flight attendant and went to the airport wearing the official uniform," the report said.
Despite the initial failure, Nisa pushed on and took more flight attendant exams and training, leading to her eventual employment.
"In addition, Aeronef Academy expressed its willingness to give Nisa a second chance to build a career in the aviation field legitimately," it said.
Through their official Instagram account, the academy offered her a free flight attendant training programme while providing moral support.
The academy also invited Nisa to join its cabin crew training free of charge as a sign of empathy and commitment to helping individuals who have strong determination but have made mistakes in the past.
Aeronef Academy is a cabin crew training center that promotes the concept of 'World-Class Cabin Crew Training', with an emphasis on the development of professionalism, discipline, and work ethics in the aviation industry.
