RM96mil lost to commercial crime in 2025, say Pahang police


KUANTAN: About RM96mil was lost in 3,199 commercial crime cases in Pahang in 2025, says state police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman.

He said during the same period, the commercial crime investigation department (CCID) arrested 2,106 individuals, which represented an increase of 330 arrests compared with 2024.

"A total of 738 commercial crime prevention programmes were held throughout 2025 to strengthen public awareness of crime threats," he said when addressing a monthly gathering at the Pahang police headquarters here on Tuesday (Jan 6).

He also said the CCID recorded a commendable case resolution rate of 68.76%, led by the Pekan district at 86.17%.

"For the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), a total of 11,927 cases were recorded involving various drug-related offences, with 13,522 individuals arrested," he said.

He added that a total of 444 cases involving fatal accidents were recorded in 2025, up 25 from 2024, while 184,769 summonses were issued in 2025, slightly lower than the 189,293 summonses issued in 2024.

On the arrest of two officers and five police personnel for alleged drug abuse at a shop in Mentakab, Temerloh last Saturday, Yahaya said an investigation was in progress and and all seven have been reassigned to desk duties. – Bernama
