Back-to-school shopping in full swing

JOHOR BARU: With school holidays ending in about two weeks, parents are using the remaining time to prepare for the new term.

At a local shopping mall, Bernama found that most parents preferred to buy school items early to avoid crowds and shortages closer to the reopening.

Father of two Mohd Zulfadhli Mostapa, 38, said he bought his children’s school items early to avoid the end-of-holiday rush.

“I do it early so there’s no last-minute stress and no worry about sizes being unavailable. Prices have gone up, but we just have to accept it,” he said.

A mother, who wished to be known only as Nur, said she prefers shopping at malls, as it allows her to buy all required items in one place.

“I don’t want to shop at the last minute because I’m worried sizes will run out. Even though prices are somewhat high, my children’s needs remain the priority,” she added.
